{ raspberry mist cocktail and giveaway! }

welcome back from the holiday excitement! hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. today i'm sharing a cocktail with you that i mixed up myself. i may not be a mixologist, but i think i have a winner here.

as a frequent entertainer. i like to make something special and specific for each occasion. usually, it's something super simple. so when sierra mist asked me to mix up a yummy cocktail, i thought i would step it up... for me at least:)

i created a "raspberry mist"! kind of a spin off of a margarita using similar ingredients. adding the sierra mist in gave it a more crisp and refreshing taste though. here's what you'll need:

[tequila, i used this, a tequila liqueur, so tasty]
[cointreau]
[triple sec]
[lime juice]
[frozen raspberries]

muddle about 5 frozen raspberries with 1 1/2 oz. tequila

add 1 oz. triple sec, 1 oz. cointreau, 1 oz. lime juice, shake it up...
before you pour, mix up some sugar and salt and dip the rim of your glass in it. i loved the sweet and salty flavor this added.
and finally...

top with about 3 oz. of sierra mist natural, drink and enjoy

what's that you say? you don't have a fancy shaker, glasses, etc? well you're in the right place! sierra mist has generously put together this amazing HOLIDAY GIFT PACK that you can win!

  3. mine is really super simple. use sierra mist or another light drink and put some type of cotton candy on top. it's cute and fun and perfect for all ages. just dip the cotton candy in the drink, eat, sip, enjoy.

  9. My favorite cocktail recipe is one I found a while back for a cocktail party I was attending and it is Hot Gold Apple Cider Punch and it is absolutely amazing! It’s here:

    1 quart apple cider
    1/2 750ml bottle dark rum
1/2 750ml bottle Goldschlager cinnamon schnapps
    4 cinnamon sticks
    6 whole allspice
    10 whole cloves
    1 orange, sliced
Combine ingredients in a large saucepan, stir and cover.
Heat slowly to a boil, stirring occasionally.
Lower heat and allow to simmer for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Transfer to insulated punch bowl and serve in mugs.

  15. Not my original recipe but a copycat recipe for Applebee's Red Apple Sangria:

4 cups red wine -- Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon
15 ounces Shakka apple Liqueur -- apple Liqueur (I use 99 Apples for extra "pow")
    6 fluid ounces grenadine
18 fluid ounces cranberry juice -- Ocean Spray
18 fluid ounces pineapple juice -- Dole brand
lemon-lime soda -- Sierra Mist or other

    Garnish
red apples -- cut into melon-ball size balls; as many as you want
oranges -- cut into wedges; leave rhine in tact; as many as you want
limes -- cut into wedges; leave rhine in tact; as many as you want
12 each maraschino cherries -- more if desired

Fill 16-oz wine glasses with ice.

Add red wine, apple liqueur, grenadine, cranberry juice, pineapple juice to a large decorative pitcher. Top off each drink with Sierra Mist.
